Eenie, meenie, minie, price

Hey Reader!

When I first started my business, pricing my services felt completely random. I'd slap a number on a proposal to a potential client based on literally nothing, then close my eyes and cross my fingers as I sent my email off into the ether.

Then I met Peter.

Peter Giordanno III is basically a wizard when it comes to pricing — though he'd probably fight me on that designation because it implies pricing is some magical spell only accessible to the supremely enlightened. (I don't know about you, but pricing has always kind of felt that way).

What Peter taught me, though, is that there isn't some secret formula to effective pricing. You just need to understand a couple of specific pieces of information.

If pricing your services has felt like a total mystery, you're going to love this week's episode of Bold Women in Business, where I pick Peter's brain about all the questions I wish I could have asked when I was first getting started in business.

Hey Reader! A few days ago, Instagram released a new wordmark (that's the words part of a logo), and the internet has been up in arms. At first glance, you might think, "wait... does that say Instagzam?" You'd be right. It totally says that 😆 It's also just plain lazy. Which, if you ask me, is reason enough for the collective internet to be pretty peeved. Let's face it: most of what we see online these days is lazy AF. It's the same AI garbage spat back in your feed over and over (and over...

Hey Reader! I used to have a big problem my husband would (lovingly) tease me about incessantly. Someone would ask me what I do, and I'd spend the next 5 minutes watching their eyes glaze over as I fumbled over how to put my work into words. Words are kind of my thing — hence, the teasing from Tzvi. What I discovered over the years, though, especially as I delved deeper and deeper into brand identity work, is that I wasn't alone in this struggle. We think we know who we are, and most of us...

Hey Reader! Tzvi and I are four weeks into a five-week house swap — we're in a home in northern Israel, while the lovely family who lives here is holding down the fort at our place in New York. Let me just tell you: SO many things have gone wrong. Their car (we swapped cars too) has been in and out of the shop most of the trip. I left the hose running in their pool and got a panicked text about the excess water alert their water company sent them. Tzvi's allergies went nuclear in week one,...
